What motivates my greatest passion?

My passion is to do something creative with my life. My dream is to be a creative director or art director at an advertising firm, but on my way there or if all else fails, I just want to do something creative. I feel like everything around me motivates this passion inside. I am inspired from the smallest things everyday, and I feel like everyday is a new day to soak up all the life I can so hopefully one day I can put it to good use. One thing that motivates my creativity bug is music, especially live music. It not only gives me a feeling but an image in my mind. Colors. Thoughts. Everything. Exhibit A:

Or Traveling. Soaking up culture in beautiful places and uniquely beautiful places. Photographs are my reminder of where Ive been and where Ive felt something. Example: who knew downtown Tuscaloosa had such beauty?

Or seeing commercials that are so good, so amazing that they give me goose bumps and I realize that's why advertising is so important. It makes me appreciate the industry and reminds me why I am pursing this path. 

And lastly, every picture of San Fransisco I see motivates me. San Fransisco is where I have dreamed to go after graduating, and that is where I am going. Its a city unlike any other I have ever been to with a vibe and feeling that cant be copied anywhere else. I feel like my passion can bloom in a city like San Fransisco, and I cant wait to see what it has in store for me. Its reminds me why I need to work so hard. 

21 Certainties About Me

 HELLO! I'm Kirby Dykstra. 

I am a 21 year old college student at the University of Alabama. I'm currently trying to figure out how to start my journey into the so called "real world." The one thing I've realized so far is that I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING... (shocking) and that the future is uncertain and always changing. But I do know 21 things about me that are certain....

1. Im from Granite Bay, California

2. My favorite color is yellow

3. I was named after a character on a TV show that my dad saw

4. I like to eat anything "dough-y" i.e: cookie dough, the middle of cinnamon rolls, pancakes etc. yuck

5. I love FALL

6. I can never seem to match my socks, nor do I care

7. I am slightly obsessed with the BRAVO and HGTV channels

8. Breakfast food is the way to my heart

9. My favorite song is "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone by Bill Withers"

10. I've been proposed to on top of the Eiffel Tower

11. I'm 6ft tall

12. I collect rings from the different places I've traveled. And I wear them everyday. I feel naked without them.

13. I have a habit of crying when I hear people sing live who are really good.

14. I'm a terrible terrible driver.

15. I want to move to San Fransisco after I graduate college in May.

16. I only believe in horoscopes when I like what mine says.

17. Lance Bass from N'SYNC and I have the same birthday. Yes this is a sad claim-to-fame, but it's all I got.

18. I'm a Mac person. Not a PC. 

19. I never wear nail polish. Ever.

20. I believe that retail therapy cures everything
